World Book Day is a yearly event on 23 April, organised by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), to promote reading, publishing and copyright. In the United Kingdom (UK), the day is recognised on the first Thursday in March. World Book Day was celebrated for the first time on 23 April 1995. According to Wikipedia, but for me is more than that.
World Book Day is a day to remember how much magic on this page and that page, on this book and that book there is. There are all kinds of magic; all around. Books are just the keepers and when we read them; they become alive. Yo can travel any where you want, yeah you can do it! When you read, you can travel around the world, Jules Verne did it in just 80 days, but perhaps with technology we can do it in a blink of an eye, yes we can. World Book Day is the perfect time to see there is a world out there that we haven’t met just yet. We can go from North to South and we can run from East to West, feel the wind, the sun, the rain, the moon, the light. When we read we are here and not. From one moment to the next we can be here and there. It only depends of how fast you read or how much imagination you got. Take a book on your hands, let it be your friend, you won’t regret it and then release it through the air to fall on other hands that will say hello to the eyes and say “LET’S READ RIGHT AWAY” Yeah, a world book day is a moment to walk the walk that that author made at that instant moment when he or she wrote those words from that page that is now before you. See the love, the horror, the history, the romance, the comedy, the play, the reality, the music or that sci-fi feeling from one sentence to the next. Today read a book, it doesn’t matter the way and then please come here and share you and your book story. Let’s start a new tradition on this particular World Book Day.
HAPPY WORLD BOOK DAY EVERYBODY!!!!!
